    Maude A. Engbert, 86, Mann's Choice, formerly of Berlin, died Sept. 9, 2008, at
  Rowser's Foster Home. Born July 22, 1922, in Bakersville, a daughter of Clark and Viola
  (Sleasman) Rhodes. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; sons, Jack Rhodes
  and Larry Engbert; brothers, Merle, Bob, Roy and Jay Rhodes; and sister, Rena Rhodes.
  Survived by her children, Richard Engbert, married to the former Cheryle Kagarice,
  Schellsburg; Donna Dennison, married to James, Hyndman; Judy Engbert, Hagerstown, Md.;
  and Nancy Baumgardner, married to Gregory, Berlin; daughter- in-law, Nancy Engbert,
  Berlin; grandchildren, Beth Hoppe, Lindsey Williams, Hilary Strope, Jonathan Engbert,
  Julie Cline, Linda Ruckman, Karen Clark, Sarah and Stacy Baumgardner; and eight
  great-grandchildren. Sister of Thelma Barron and Pauline Reiking, both of Somerset; and
  sister-in-law of Margie Rhodes, Somerset; and Sarah Rhodes, Carmichaels. Member of St.
  John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore. She enjoyed gardening and embroidery.
  Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Deaner Funeral
  Home, Berlin, where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will
  be held 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Church, New Baltimore. The Rev. Allen Zeth
  officiating. Committal church cemetery.
