He was born May 11, 1909, in Elk Lick Township, a son of the late Elmer and Emma (Shumac) Engle. He is survived by his widow, Barbara (Baker) Engle; and three children: Jack, Meyersdale RD 4; Pearl, wife of Robert Walker; and Hazel, wife of Sam Dirienzo, both of Garrett RD 1; nine grand children; two great-grandchildren; and a sister Mrs. Hazel Sipe, Pittsburgh. He was a retired coal miner and member of the United Mine Workers. Life-member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. Friends were received in the Leckemby Funeral Home, where services were held with the Rev. Albert Valentine officiating. Interment, Lichty Cemetery. The Republic, December 23, 1982 [E291]
