  JOHN R. ENGLE
  
    John R. Engle, 85, of 2911/2 Main Street, Frostburg and formerly of
  Grantsville, died August 29, 1978 in Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
    A native of Grantsville, he was a son of the late Ralph Engle and Etta
  (Layman) Engle.  His wife, Helen (Sharer) Engle, preceded him in death.
    He was a retired agent for Peoples Life Insurance Company.
    Surviving are a son, Ralph Engle, Hagerstown; five sisters, Miss Ida V.
  Engle and Mrs Althea Goetz, both of Cumberland; Mrs. Helen A. MacMannis,
  Silver Spring; Mrs. Martha (Pat) Brookhart Oakland, Md.; and Mrs. Ely
  Wadsworth, Delmont.
    Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home August. 30, from 2 to 4
  and 7 to 9 p.m.  Services were conducted there August 31, 1978 at 2 p.m., 
  with the Rev. Dr. Clarence A. Kaylor officiating.  Interment was in
  Grantsville Cemetery.
