Born Aug. 22, 1907 in Madley, Pa., a daughter of the late Daniel W. and Ella Virginia (Coughenour) Yutzy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank L. Engle, in 1957, and two sisters, Margaret Shroyer and Mary Yutzy. She is survived by three children: Virginia Anaya and husband, Joseph, Salisbury; Joseph F. Engle and Wife; Sacramento, Calif; John Daniel Engle, Somerset; three grandchildren, Michael, Anaya, Keena Most and Heather Walker, three step grandchildren, Del Ray Sanders, Shirley Williams and Kathy Krantz and seven great-grandchildren. Also, six sisters, Pearl Arnold, Bedford, Bertha DeVore and Pauline McVicker, both of Hyndman, Marian Budnowski, Green Bush, N.Y., Dorothy Papa, Hagerstown Md., Barbara Trupp, Foxboro, Canada, two brothers, Joseph Yutzy and Roy W. Yutzy, both of Cumberland, Md. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, American Legion Auxiliary 459 and Salisbury FireAuxiliary. She worked at Meyersdale Shirt Factory, was cook at Salisbury Sandwich Shop and at Tuscano's Restaurant, Meyersdale. Was house mother at West Virginia University, Morgantown, for Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and later the Tri Delta Sorority. After leaving the University, she took care of elderly folks who were sick or invalids. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the Newman Funeral Home Inc., Salisbury, where services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Raymond Brown officiating.
