Wayne Engle, 49, Salisbury, died Jan. 4, 1972, in Cumberland. Born Sept. 20, 1922, he was the son of Lester F. and Gertrude Hersh. Surviving are his father of Salisbury; his wife, the former Janice Robertson; two dough tern, Mrs. Vicki Grew, Salisbury. and Lori Engle, at home; also three brothers, Wilbur, Salisbury; Woodrow, Meyersdale; and Donald, Baltimore; and three sisters, Mrs. Phyllis Swauger, Salisbury; Mrs. Audrey Tressler, Springs; and Mrs. Hilda Shumaker, Turtle Creek. He was a member and deacon of the Salisbury Church of the Brethren. He owned and operated Kelly's Car Wash and was a mechanic for Keystone Lime Company. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of Salisbury American Legion, and a member of United Commercial Travelers. Funeral service was held Friday afternoon at Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury, with Rev. Daniel Whitacre officiating. Interment in Salisbury Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, Jan. 13, 1972 [E348]
