The cause of his death was lobar pneumonia. He was a son of John B. and Elizabeth Tressler Engle late of Elk Lick Township, and was born and reared on a farm but spent most of his life working in the coal mines of the Elk Lick region. He is survived by these children: Mrs. Clara Blanche Riley and Mrs. Kathryn Fogle, Washington, D.C.; Burl Engle of Indiana County; Mrs. Leona Shelton of Chagrin Falls, O.; Paul and Garrison Engle, at home; Mrs. Marion Swartz, Mercer, Pa.; Markle Engle and Mrs. Alverna Cobledick, Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Emma Whitmer, Franklin, Pa. He is also survived by these brothers and sisters: Harvey of St. Paul, Elmer of Meyersdale, R.D. 1, Miss Susan Engle of Garrett, and Mrs. Clara Smith, Columbus, Ohio. His wife, who before her marriage was Miss Cora E. Tressler, preceded him in death 15 years ago. Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church, last Saturday at 2 p.m., Rev. A. J. Forry officiating. Interment was in the St. Paul Cemetery under the direction of Stanley M. Thomas, mortician of Salisbury. Meyersdale Republican, August 13, 1942
