Main St., Berlin, died July 12, 1984, at Somerset Community Hospital. He was born Dec. 1, 1917, in Brothersvalley Township, a son of Simon and Elizabeth (Maust) Engleka. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jacob and Leo, and a sister, Erma. He is survived by his wife, the former Florence Emeigh, whom he married July 16, 1941, and these children: Jay, married to LaRue Prilts, Ray, married to Dianne Wyant, Sharon, married to Donald Noakes, all of Berlin; and Joyce, married to Wally Leech, Johnstown; also eight grandchildren: Scott, Mark, Natalie, Richie, Renee, Amy, Stephanie, and Hayley. He was a brother of Elwood, Berlin; Simon, Somerset; Saloma, Canton, Ohio; and Ferne, Auburn, Wash. He owned and operated Don's Service Station since 1944 and Don's Auto Sales for 23 years. He previously owned and operated Berlin Taxi Service from 1948-1952. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin I.O.O.F. Lodge, Meyersdale Elks Lodge, Berlin Volunteer Fire Department, and the Berlin Business Association. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, the Rev. Kenneth S. Swanson officiating. Interment, Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church would be appreciated. The Berlin I.O.O.F. Lodge memorial service will be at the funeral home Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Daily American, July 14, 1984 [E362]
