He was a resident of the Jersey District all his life. Following an attack of scarlet fever some years ago, from which he had recovered nicely, he went to work too soon and suffered a serious relapse which left him a semi-invalid. Through all his suffering and crippled condition he retained his annay disposition and was always most optimistic. He conducted an oiling station at his home, which was in operation until he was unable to attend to business. He was seriously sick and suffered terribly for several months before he passed away quietly and peacefully. Funeral services were held at 1 o'clock at his late home on Thursday afternoon. The large crowd present was a tribute to his popularity. Rev. Oakes of the Confluence Christian Church conducted the services. Mrs. Frank Mitchell and Mrs. Charles Beggs sang several beautiful selections. The four brothers and two brothers-in-law carried him to his last resting place - across from his home in the Jersey Cemetery, just as they had carried him from place to place in life. He is survived by his father, John Enos, and these brothers and sisters: Lester, Glenn and Samuel Enos, and Mrs. Richard Alcott of the Jersey District; William Enos of Confluence; Miss Martha Enos, Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Ronald Selbaugh of Twin Rocks, Pa. Charles Humbert of Confluence was in charge of the funeral. Meyersdale Republican, March 7, 1940
