Jack was born on Jan. 22, 1924, in the Morrellville section of Johnstown, a son of the late Clifford R. and Helen A. (Heffley) Eppley. Jack is survived by his wife, Shirley (Charlesworth) Eppley, Sipesville; daughters, Susan C. Landrith (Lee), Sparks, Nev.; and Claudia E. Wilson, Bellefonte; brother, Eugene Eppley (Alice), Johnstown; stepsons, James (Amy) and Ernest (Jane) Charlesworth; and three grandchildren. He also leaves behind a good friend, Peggy Eppley, Flemington, N.J. Mr. Eppley was a World War II Navy veteran. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in chemical engineering. The majority of his career was spent at Hunterdon High School, Flemington, where he taught for 27 years. He was a member of the Somerset Masonic Lodge 358 and was active in the Sipesville Lions Club. A private memorial service will be held at a later date with interment at Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown.
