  William J. Ernst, 62, of Berlin RD 3, died Nov. 24, 1986, at home.  Born
  Jan. 26, 1924, in Glencoe, son of Harry E. and Liza (Hutzell) Ernst.
  Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Catherine Shroyer.  Survived
  by these children: John of Somerset; Mrs. Joseph (Gwen) Slifco, Berlin and
  these stepchildren: Mrs. Cassandra (Sandy) Knopsnyder, Berlin RD 3; Dwayne
  Ross, U.S. Army in Holland; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren. A
  brother of: Walter, Meyersdale, RD 4; Gerge, Buckstown; and Martha in
  Florida.  Member of Sarver Community Church and was formerly employed at
  Snyder of Berlin.  Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at
  Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, where services will be held at 3 p.m.
  Wednesday, the Rev. Leonard Day officiating.  Interment, Sarver Church
  Cemetery.
