Evans, 68, died Monday at his home in Hyndman. A native of Todd (Pa.), he was a son of the late Joseph P. and Susan (Eichelberger) Evans, and was pastor of the Union Gospel Mission in Gladdens, Southampton Township. Besides his wife, the former Alma Miller, he is survived by five sons, Rev. Luman Evans, Baltimore; Rev. Charles Wesley Evans, Colonial Heights, Va.; Rev. Dwight Evans, Uniontown; Vincent L. Evans, Washington, D. C.; and Donald F. Evans, Chicago; four daughters, Miss Betty Ruth Evans, Chicago; Miss Doris L. Evans, a medical missionary at Tetuas, North Africa, and Jean K. and Shirley L. Evans, both at home; 16 grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. PearI Bolinger, Robertsdale (Pa.), and Mrs. Blanche Shoemaker, Johnstown. Funeral service was held Sept. 7, in Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman. with Rev. Chance [sic] J. Ickes, of Laurel Hill Gospel Tabernacle, officiating. Interment was made in the Hyndman cemetery.
