  Donald M. Evans, 76, Richland Township, Johnstown, died unexpectedly Feb.
  24, 2004, at his home.  Born May 18, 1927 in Johnstown, son of Michael and
  Anna (Tomchik) Evans.  Preceded in death by parents, wife, former Joan Ream,
  Sept. 27, 2003, daughter, Harriet Morningstar, grandson, Pfc. Shawn Pahanke,
  killed in action in Iraq; and infant grandsons, Robert and Dean Pahanke.
  Survived by daughter Linda (Evans), married to Thomas Pahanke, Chicago,
  Ill.; stepchildren Barry L. Zimmerman, married to former Bonnie Prouse,
  Pennsville, N.J.; LuAnn (Zimmerman), married to Thomas Campbell,
  Laughlintown; Robin L. (Zimmerman), married to Johnie Prater Jr., Medina,
  Ohio; Tammy L. (Zimmerman) Matse and fiance, Jay Brown, Boswell; Kimberly
  D. (Zimmerman), married to Bruce Ickes, Cockeysville, Md.; and Kevin R.
  Zimmerman, married to former Elizabeth Shroyer, Somerset; five
  grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; 18 step grandchildren; nine
  step great-grandchildren; and sister Delores, married to Ian Coull, Venice,
  Fla.  A graduate of Johnstown High School.  Program director/disc jockey for
  several radio stations throughout the country, including local stations
  WJAC and WVSC.  During his colorful career he met many celebrities and was
  very proud to have received a Country Music Association Award for radio
  station programing.  Currently employed by Pro Golf Discount, Johnstown.
  Enjoyed watching and playing golf and woodworking.  Friends received from 2
  to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Route 403 and Church
  Road, Davidsville, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday.  The
  Rev. David L. Karlberg officiating.  Following cremation interment at
  Grandview Cemetery at a later date.  Donations in Don's name may be given to
  Meals On Wheels, 550 Main St., Johnstown, Pa. 15901.
