Born Dec. 13, 1919, in Jerome, son of Michael and Agnes (Thomashosky) Ewanitsko. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Joseph, died 1978; two infant brothers. Survived by widow, former Virginia (Dipre) Lappi; two step-daughters: Linda, Washington D.C., Judith, wife of Carlton D. Barron III, Stoystown RD 1; three grandsons: John Rycyk, and Bradley and Corey Barron. Brother of Kathryn, wife of Walter Walat, Boswell; Mildred, widow of Steve Sesack, Central City; Agnes, wife of Christopher Graham, Boswell RD 3; Dorothy, widow of John Sopich, Boswell RD 1. Member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Boswell; UMWA Local #1023, Cairnbrook; and American Legion Post #802, Jerome. Retired coal miner with 40 years service. Army veteran of World War II, having served with the 4th Armor Division. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
