Garnel Dee (Berkebile) Ferre, 64, Boswell, died Nov. 15, 2008, at Memorial 
Medical Center. Born Nov. 11, 1944, in Johnstown, daughter of former 
Hooversville funeral director Garner "Lefty" Berkebile and Nellie (Dull) 
Berkebile. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 44 years, Eugene E. Ferre on 
Oct. 26, 2005; and father-in-law, Constant N. Ferre. Survived by children, 
Janine, married to Larry Konieczny, Shelocta; Josana, widow of Michael Baraniak, 
Berlin; Johnna, married to Jay Lensbouer, Somerset; Jamie Dedik and fiance, 
Ronald Rhoades, Gray; Eugene G., married to former Penny Krupper, Johnstown; and 
Jill, married to Bob Lewis, Sipesville; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-
grandchildren; mother-in-law, Dorothy (Miller) Ferre, Boswell; and several 
adopted daughters. Former employee of Riverside Bakery, Somerset. She was a home 
health aid, a plumbers assistant at the former Abex plant and a partner in Asset 
Managers. Member of Somerset Aerie 1801, FOE and Somerset Post 181, American 
Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed dining out, watching movies, taking mini vacations 
and spending time with her family. She was a very loving mother, gram and GeeGee 
and she will be sadly missed. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the 
Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell, where funeral 
service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday. Pastor Larry C. Hoover officiating. 
Interment, P.O.S. of A. Cemetery, Hooversville.
