January 21, 1970
Josephine Ferre, 88, West Race Street Somerset, died Jan. 20, 1970, in Somerset 
Community Hospital. Born Aug. 8, 1881, in Italy, a daughter of the late Burt and 
Catherine (Gelmini) Chiappani. Preceded in death by her husband Pete, a son 
Burt, a daughter Catherine, (?) brothers and a sister. Survived by these 
children: Mario V. of Akron, Ohio; Mrs Mary Tonolini of Jerome; Mrs Jennie 
Underwood of Somerset; Joseph of Kennett Square and Constant of Boswell; 15 
grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren. Memeber of St Peter's Catholic Church, 
Somerset, and the Altar Society. Friends will be received after 7pm Wednesday at 
the Richard E Hauger Funeral Home where rosary will be recited Thursday at 8pm. 
Requiem Mass Friday at 10am, St Peter's Catholic Church, the Rev Fr A A Gartland 
officiating. Interment Mount Carmel Cemetery.
