(Murray) Fabis, 76, of Uniontown, passed away on Oct. 21, 2003, at Somerset Hospital, Somerset. She was born Sept. 11, 1927, in Scottdale the daughter of the late William and Frances (Lowman) Murray. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Steve Fabis on Dec. 16,1995, brothers Bill, George, Frank and Harold Murray and sisters Ada Cervi, Dorothy Knopsnyder, Catherine Lynn, and Florance Knopsnyder and his wife Barbara of Somerset, sisters, Laura Whitt of Uniontown, Edna Bourrough, niece Jean Pritts of Rockwood, great-nieces and nephews, Ray, James and Nancy Kelly, Julie, Melissa, Eric and Terry M. Knopsnyder and Kristine Landis and a special great-great-niece Cheyenne Knopsnyer. A great-great-niece Grace Marie Saylor and great-great-nephews Kyle and Dylan Landis and Nelson Saylor and two other great-great-nieces and nephews. Elva was a former member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown. She was a practical nurse in the area helping many older people. She enjoyed ceramics and made many beautiful pieces. Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home Inc. at Slyvan N. Heights Cemetery. A dignity memorial provider, 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext, Uniontown on Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. the time of a blessing service in the funeral home with Father Micah E. Kozoil officiating.
