Born Sept. 14, 1940. Son of Frances and Austin Famariss of Pittsburgh. Preceded in death by a brother, Austin. Survived by his wife, Carol Vincent Famariss, and these children: Gordon Case of Chicago; Robert Jeffrey of Princeton, N.J.; and Anne Lyndsay of Martha's Vineyard. Graduate of Shadyside Academy, Class of 1958, and Bucknell University, Class of 1962. Formerly employed by IBM, Somerset Rural Electric, Somerset County Trust and Comsat. Currently executive vice president of the Somerset County Development Council. He was past treasurer of Laurel Arts, board member of the Humane Society of Somerset County, past president of Somerset Rotary, former member of Somerset Area School Board, member of Somerset County Vo-Tech Advisory Committee, chairman of Gov. Ridge's School-to-Work Commission and member of Bucknell Hall of Fame Committee. All-American soccer player while at Bucknell. President of District 5 Referee Association and former West Penn and AYSO soccer coach. He was instrumental in founding AYSO in Somerset County. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Somerset, where he served as usher, Sunday School treasurer and Sunday school teacher. He was currently a member of Husband United Methodist Church where he was serving as Sunday school superintendent. No viewing. Memorial service will be held at 4 p.m, Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church.
