Fanale, 76, East Catherine St., Somerset, died Dec. 22, 1989, in Wheeling (W. Va.) Hospital. Born April 2, 1913, in Paint Township, Somerset County, a son of the late Vincent, and Maria (Marine) Fanale. Preceded in death by parents and two brothers, William and Dante. Survived by wife, Hazel Shaulis, and these children: Elaine, wife of George Petras, Puyallup, Wash.; Dale and Dennis, both of York; also eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and brother and sisters: Michena, wife of Chester Gurzenda; Ida Shroyer, and Amato Fanale, all of Quecreek. Member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Somerset, and Sportsman's Rifle Association; life member of National Rifle Association. Also member of the 55 and Over Speeders. Formerly employed by Saxman Coal and Coke Company, Quecreek, and Jandy Coal Company, Windber. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where wake service will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Peter's Church, with Msgr. Samuel Tomaselli officiating.
