Fate, 81, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Lindeman, in Boynton at 11:30 p.m. on Friday, April 22. Mr. Fate had fractured his hip about three months ago and was hospitalized for a few days, and has been bedfast ever since. He died of cerebral thrombosis. His wife, Mrs. Susan (Grove) Fate, preceded him in death on October 13, 1942. Mr. Fate was born in Bedford County, June 21, 1867, son of Daniel and Barbara (Deffinbaugh) Fate. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Lindeman, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. One son preceded him in death about 30 years ago. Funeral services were conducted at the Lindeman home at 2 p.m. on Monday with the Rev. Glyndon Logsdon, pastor of Boynton Church of God, officiating. Interment was made in Salisbury I.O.O.F. Cemetery in charge of mortician Stanley M. Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, April 28, 1949
