Born Nov. 26, 1910, in Zihlman, Md. She was the daughter of the late Clarence Moses and Mary Loretta (McKenzie) Raley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry J. Fate. Survivors include two sons, James T. Fate and his wife Marilyn, Annapolis, Md., and Charles C. Fate and his wife, Peggy, Davidsonville, Md.; a daughter, Evelyn M. Whitmire, Canton, Ohio; two sisters, Dorothy A. Arnold and Evelyn P. McKenzie, both of Frostburg, Md. Also six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was employed as a cook for Garf's Sandwich Shop and prior to that as a seamstress at Salisbury Undergarment Factory. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, the T.T.T. class of St. John's and Salisbury VFW Auxiliary. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m Friday at the Newman Funeral Home, Inc., Salisbury, Pa., where services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, with Rev. Lamar Bender officiating.
