(Beth) 10/09/06 Daily American Elizabeth M. "Beth" Faulkner, 18, Mount Gilead, Ohio, died Oct. 7, 2006, from injuries sustained in an auto-mobile accident. Born July 7, 1988, in Somerset, daughter of Heidi E. and Keith A. Yutzy, Mount Gilead, Ohio and Kevin M. and Wendy Faulkner, Somerset. Before her graduation from Mount Gilead High School in the class of 2006, she was involved in mock trial where she honed her debating skills; was a "Most Improved Scholar" Award winner, and was an aid for her various teachers. She also worked at the Cornerstone Cafe as a waitress where she was very well liked by her customers. Now, a freshman at Kent State University, majoring in psychology, a very artistic person, she enjoyed playing the keyboard and writing poetry. Her family described her as "sweet, caring, beautiful and stub-born." She loved her dogs, having eight at home, but Dillon, a Japanese Chin, held a special place in her heart. Because of her petite stature, she had various nicknames. Her Grandma Kathy called her a "little porcelain doll," while her grandpa Harry called her "Itzy Bitzy" since the day she was born. Her grandma Kathy said she was my "little rugrat." Her many friends called her "cupcake." She was certainly a young lady with so much potential. She will be sadly missed by her parents; maternal grand-parents, Kathy and Harry Fisher, Somerset; paternal grandparents, David and Darlene Yutzy, Johnstown; Kathy Yutzy and Don Arden, Plano, Texas; Ruth and Terrill Faulkner, Bedford; half brother and half sister, Blake and Allisa Faulkner, Somerset; aunts and uncles, Jodi and Sam Kreger, Ligonier, Cindi Platt, Somerset, and David and Lori Yutzy, Hillard, Ohio; cousins, Stephen, Emily and Cassidi Platt, Somerset, Devin Kreger, Ligonier, and Tya Yutzy, Hillard, Ohio. Friends may call on the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Craven-Snyder Funeral Home, 67 North Main St., Mount Gilead, where Doug Bryan, pastor, will conduct services at 11 a.m. Thursday. A memorial service will also be held at the Grace United Methodist Church, 3020 Felgar Road, Somerset, 11 a.m. Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Elizabeth's name to the North Central MADD chapter, P.O. Box 763, Shelby, Ohio 44875.
