Fay, 79, of Salisbury, died April 19, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born Oct. 28, 1917, near Salisbury, she was a daughter of the late Karl D. and Margaret (Hotchkiss) Swartzwelder. Also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Wilber and Karl D. Swartzwelder, and a grandson, Jeffrey Wisseman. Member of St. Johns's United Church of Christ and Salisbury Firemen's Auxillary. She is survived by her husband, Willard G. Fay; 2 daughters, Elizabeth A. Fay, Salisbury, and Kathy L. Spence and husband, James E., Kingsport, Tenn.; 3 grandchildren: Jodi Lowry, Mike Wisseman and Andrea Spence, and 4 great-grandchildren. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Newman Funeral Home Inc., Salisbury, where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Raymond Brown officiating.
