He was a son of Conrad and Mary Ark Felker. He was born in Larimer Township where he spent most of his life in farming and cutting timber. He cleared over 300 acres of new ground in Larimer and Northampton Townships. During the last ten years he made his home with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Johnson, of Cumberland, Md. For some years he was afflicted with diabetes, with which he was seriously stricken just five days before his end came. Up until that time he was able to take care of himself. He died in the Memorial Hospital, Cumberland. Funeral services were held on Wednesday morning, March 23, at the home of his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. N. B. Hechler, at Sippleville, followed by interment in the cemetery adjoining the White Oak Lutheran Church of which he was a lifelong and faithful member. The obsequies were conducted by his pastor, Rev. S. D. Sigler, W. C. Price was the funeral director in charge. Mr. Felker is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Henry of Scottdale; Peter, of Mance; Conrad of Cumberland, Md.; Maggie, wife of W. H. Johnson, Cumberland; Minerva, wife of N. B. Hechler, Meyersdale. Two brothers, John and Christian, and two sisters, Mary, wife of the late John Hoffman of Cumberland, and Jane, wife of the late William Tressler of Meyersdale, preceded him to the grave.
