Ferner, 82, of Maple Mountain Manor, Berlin, died May 12, 1983, at Maple Mountain Manor. He was born May 8, 1901, in Fairhope, son of Elmer and Lucinda (Meyers) Ferner. He was preceded in death by parents, his wife, the former Etta Butler, one brother and one sister. He is survived by these children: Mrs. Marie Moore and Mrs. Dolores Maul, both of Berlin; Mrs. Dorothy Hoskins, Charleston, W.Va.; and James of Tiffin, Ohio; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson. He was a member of Berlin Volunteer Fire Dept. and was a former policeman and served as secretary for the Berlin Borough. Friends were received at Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, Berlin, where services were held with the Rev. Ralph E. Mills officiating. Interment, Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
