Born May 25, 1905, he was a son of the late Warren and Grace (Launtz) Ferner. He is survived by his wife, Elenora; two children, Richard, Manheim, Germany, and Bill, Kansas City, Mo.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister. He was a registered professional engineer and a member of these organizations: Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset Volunteer Fire Department, Somerset County Firemen's Association, Western Pa. Firemen's Association, F. and A.M. Lodge 358, Jaffa Shrine, Altoona, life member of the New Castle Consistory, charter member of the OX5, Aviation Pioneers, and the Pilot's International Association Inc. Friends received after 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. H. James Meyers and Vicar Robert Briesen officiating. Interment, Husband Cemetery. Masonic Services will be held at 7 p.m. and Firemen Memorial Services at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Daily American, June 13, 1978 [F0194]
