  Fred Fortunato Fidi, 84, Somerset, died Dec. 2, 2005, at his residence.
  
  Born May 24, 1921, in Fiume di Nisi Sicily, Italy a son of Santo "Sam" and
  Theresa (Cascio) Fite. Preceded in death by parents; great-granddaughter,
  Ashley Marie Muckelroy; and infant brother, Carmel Fite. Survived by wife, the
  former Marie F. Grue to whom he was married 61 years; daughter, Ms. Theresa
  Moxley, Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Anthony Moxley, Charlotte, N.C.; and
  Christine Beatty, Mount Holly, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Casey A. Muckelroy
  and Andrew Beatty. Brother of Mrs. Josephine Hill, Somerset; half brothers,
  Joseph, Carmel and Sam Jr. Fite, all of Michigan; and John Fite, Ohio; half
  sisters, Mary Fite and Rosie Allen, both of North Carolina; and Connie Walton,
  California. Member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, U.S. Army veteran of World
  War II, he had worked as a tank driver for Exxon Mobile for 27 years until his
  retirement in 1979. Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the
  Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Vigil for the deceased will be held 7
  p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be conducted 10 a.m. Monday
  at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Somerset. Monsignor Samuel J. Tomaselli
  Celebrant. Committal Somerset County Memorial Park. Contributions may be sent
