Born May 24, 1921, in Fiume di Nisi Sicily, Italy a son of Santo "Sam" and Theresa (Cascio) Fite. Preceded in death by parents; great-granddaughter, Ashley Marie Muckelroy; and infant brother, Carmel Fite. Survived by wife, the former Marie F. Grue to whom he was married 61 years; daughter, Ms. Theresa Moxley, Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Anthony Moxley, Charlotte, N.C.; and Christine Beatty, Mount Holly, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Casey A. Muckelroy and Andrew Beatty. Brother of Mrs. Josephine Hill, Somerset; half brothers, Joseph, Carmel and Sam Jr. Fite, all of Michigan; and John Fite, Ohio; half sisters, Mary Fite and Rosie Allen, both of North Carolina; and Connie Walton, California. Member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he had worked as a tank driver for Exxon Mobile for 27 years until his retirement in 1979. Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Vigil for the deceased will be held 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be conducted 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Somerset. Monsignor Samuel J. Tomaselli Celebrant. Committal Somerset County Memorial Park.
