Foster Theodore Fike Sr., 87, Somerset, died July 8, 2004, at Somerset Hospital, Somerset. Born Aug. 20, 1916, in Marklesburg the son of James Roy and Oma May (Fisher) Fike. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Helen Elizabeth Spaw on March 25, 1983; brother Oran Paul Fike, sisters Vallie Mostoller and Imogene "Jean" Queer. Survived by children Mrs. James (Constance E. "Connie") Nicholson, Farmington, Foster T. "Ted" Fike Jr., married to the former Wendy Draudt, Lake Ridge, Va.; grandchildren Matthew Nicholson, Farmington; Michael Nicholson, Haddenfield, N.J.; Adam and Alan Fike both of Los Angeles; Todd and Sarah Fike both of Lake Ridge, Va., great-grandchildren Katie, J.T. and Caroline Nicholson. Brother of Robert E. Fike, Madison, Ohio; and close friend and companion Betty Puline, Jennerstown. He was a very unique and colorful dad, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him. He was a member of First Christian Church. He was in the heating business for 37 years and was the owner of Fike's Heating Company in Somerset until his retirement. He was also an avid car fan and a member of the WPA Region Antique Automobile Club of America for over 46 years. In his lifetime he owned stock cars, antique cars and raced midget race cars in his later years. Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Viewing at the church from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. the time of service at First Christian Church, Somerset. The Rev. John Barchey officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park.
