FIKE Gladys Irene (Roberts) Fike, 80, of Markleysburg, passed away June 5, 2000 in her home. Born May 2, 1920 in Confluence, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Bowlin) Roberts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son and one great-grandson, David Fike. Survived by her husband of 61 years, Arnold D. Fike and these children: George Fike and wife Jackie of Farmington, Richard Fike and wife Grace of Markleysburg, Edwin Fike of Waynesburg, and Marion (Sue) King and husband Larry of Markleysburg; brother George Roberts and wife Freda (Miller) of Somerset; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Member of the Union Chapel Church and the MHCVFD Ladies Auxiliary and a Central Committee Woman. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Rodney S. Turner Funeral Home, 254 Main St., Markleysburg. Additional visitation will be held in the Union Chapel Church, Flatrock Road, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the hour of service Friday, with Rev. Shirley Norman and Rev. Ricardo Alicastro officiating. Interment, Addison Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Union Chapel Church. The family sends a special thank-you to the American and Marclay Ambulance services. The MHCVFD Ladies Auxiliary will hold services on Thursday at 8 p.m. Daily American, June 8, 2000 [F0268]
