Fike died Tuesday evening at 7:15, in the Hazel McGilvery Hospital where he had been a patient for several weeks. He was born November 13, 1877, near Meyersdale, and was a retired farmer. He was the son of William and Cara (Saylor) Fike. He is survived by his wife, Emma (Martz) Fike and a son, Norman G. Fike; also by five brothers, Dennis, Peter, Elias, Bruce and William, all of the Meyersdale community, two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Courtney of Johnstown and Mrs. Martha Hoey, Detroit, Mich., and by one grandchild and one great grandchild. Mr. Fike was a member of the Church of the Brethren. He was a hospital patient about four weeks and underwent two amputations. Friends were received at the Price Funeral Home Wednesday evening. His body was removed to his home today, (Thursday). Funeral services will be held in the Church of the Brethren Friday at 2:30 p.m., the Rev. I. C. Paul officiating.
