Fike, 84, Meyersdale, died Feb. 23, 2004, at Meyersdale Medical Center. Born Jan. 4, 1920, in Summit Township, a son of the late William W. and Martha (Klingaman) Fike. Also preceded in death by his wife, the former Helen Gnagey, who died in 1978 and an infant brother. Survived by three children, Randy, married to the former Jean Wellington, Meyersdale, Susie, wife of David Lohr, Meyersdale, and Sally wife of Ronald Statler, Clermont, Fla. Also four grandchildren: Benjamin Lohr Sr., Meyersdale, and his fiancee, Denise Clatterbuck, Oakland, Md., Michelle (Fike) wife of Leighton Batey, Round Rock, Texas, DeAnn (Lohr), wife of Michael Hotchkiss, Meyersdale, Robert E. Fike, Meyersdale; one stepgranddaughter, Natalie Statler, Dillsburg; two great-grandsons, Benjamin Lohr Jr. and Zachery Hotshkiss. A brother of: Eugene Fike, married to the former Lillian Barmoy and Doris, wife of Clay Gnagey, all of Meyersdale. Bob was a member of the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren and was a veteran of the U.S. Army World War II where he served in the Battle of the Bulge. Employee of Penn Pocahontas Coal Company, Garrett, until his retirement in 1982. He was a dragline operator and oiler. A member of the UMWA, a lifetime member of the Salisbury VFW and the Salisbury American Legion. He was an avid bowler, hunter, fisherman and a great Pittsburgh Steeler and Pittsburgh Pirate fan. Friends will be received 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Pete Kaltenbaugh officiating.
