"Jim" Filicky, 67 of Stoystown died Sept. 21, 1995 at home. Born Nov. 2, 1927 in Johnstown son of Edward F. and Mary M. (Kmecik) Filicky. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Florence V. Babich and brother Edward "Chick" Filicky. Survived by wife of 44 years the former Betty Knox of Stoystown; son Ronald J. of Stoystown and fiancee Colleen Hagens and daughter, Deborah Lewandowski of Stoystown and friend Clair Boozer. Also survived by grandchildren, Joshua and Kelsee. An Army veteran of WW II and retired locomotive mechanic and foreman with 33 years of service for Conemaugh Blacklick Railroad. A former member of the Rodoljub Singing Society, lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 554, Somerset and member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Hooversville. Friends received 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street, Johnstown where a wake service will be held Sunday. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, the Rev. Harold Biller. Interment Grandview Cemetery. Daily American, September 23, 1995 [F0296]
