Born Sept. 16, 1914, in Connellsville, the son of the late Ulysses Grant and Ada (McMillan) Firestone. Also preceded in death by grandson, Kent Maust; brothers, Merle and Edgar Firestone, and sister Ella Brooks. Survived by his wife, the former Grace Louise Sager, to whom he was married 46 years, and these children: Mrs. Jean Maust, Greensburg; Mrs. Frank (Sydney) Gosnell, Enid, Okla.; Mrs. David M. (Sandra) Griffith, Somerset, and Blaine T., married to Darlene Burkett of Somerset RD 7; also 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church; VFW Post 554, Somerset; Travelers Protective Association. Owner of Firestone Heavy Equipment & Repair for 44 years. World War II Army veteran. Served in the European Theatre and received the Distinguished Service Medal, 2 Bronze Stars and the Silver Star Medal. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Robert L. Hoover, Jr. officiating. No viewing at the church. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
