  FIRESTONE
  
  J. Gertrude Firestone, 93, of Confluence, died Oct. 9, 1987, in the Windber
  Hospital.  Born July 1, 1894, in Lower Turkeyfoot Township, a daughter of
  Wilson and Susan (Harbaugh) Conn.  Survived by two daughters: Mrs. James V.
  (Ruth) Anderson of Windber; and Mrs. Thomas (Reba) Rush of Confluence;
  also, five granddaughters:  Mrs. Don (Barbara) Durst of Windber; Mrs. Jan
  (Vernice) Snyder of Confluence; Mrs. Tom (Karen) Suhr of Pensacola, Fla.;
  Mrs. Dean (Garnet) Dennis of Markleysburg; and Mrs. Randy (Audrey) Close of
  Somerset; 14 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.  She
  was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel; and infant daughter, Leora; a
  son, Ray M. Firestone; two sisters and three brothers.  She was a lifelong
  member of the Turkeyfoot Valley Baptist Church, Church Missionary Ladies,
  the WBA Lodge and a former member of the Confluence Firemen's Ladies
  Auxiliary.  Friends will be received after 2 p.m. on Saturday at the
  Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, and from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday
  at which time the service will be held in the funeral home with the Rev.
  John Wilson officiating.  Interment, Jersey Cemetery.
