Firestone, 62, of 404 Green Street, Southwest Greensburg, died July 9, 1978, in the Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Born Sept. 10, 1915, in Somerset County, he was a son of the late George Ross and Emma Firestone. He was a retired employee of the Robertshaw Company at New Stanton with 36 years of service; a life member of the Church of the Brethren; and was a member of the Thilathea Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sally Kay Firestone, 1967, and two brothers: Donald and Merle Firestone, both in 1977, and by two half-brothers: Oscar and Orville Firestone. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sara (Pletcher) Firestone; also two sons, Terry T. of Penn Hills, and William R. of Baldwin Borough in Pittsburgh; also one grandson, Gregory K.; and three brothers: Hillary Firestone of Berlin; Leo Firestone of Youngwood; and Lloyd Firestone of Somerset; and four sisters: Mrs. Emmert (Gertrude) Bittner of Rockwood; Mrs. George (Dorothy) Gardner of Somerset RD 3; and Mrs. Kenneth (Golden Mayne) Walthour and Mrs. William (Gayla) Boley, both of Greensburg. Friends were received at the Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home, Greensburg. Funeral services were held at the Church of the Brethren, Greensburg, with the Rev. James V. D'Amico officiating.
