He is survived by his wife and the following children: Ira, of West Virginia; Ralph, Oscar and Preston, all of Hooversville; Clarence, of Meyersdale, and Edith, at home, He was a brother of Samuel and Urias Firl, both of Summit Mills; Mrs. Susan Maust, of Garrett, and Mrs. Elizabeth Brown, of Summit Mills. He was a son of the late Samuel Firl, Sr., a well known Civil War veteran and for many years the village blacksmith of Summit Mills. His body was brought to Summit Mills for burial, funeral services being held at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon, in the Summit Mills Brethren Church of which he was a member. Rev. Weaver, pastor of the Church of the Brethren at Davidsville, had charge of the funeral services. Undertaker Berkebile of Hooversville had charge of the burial arrangements.
