SARAH AMANDA FIRL

  Mrs. Sarah Amanda Firl, wife of Urias Firl, Meyersdale R.D. 1, died at their 
home, in Summit Mills, Saturday, September 18.  She was born in Somerset County, 
February 22, 1875, the daughter of Peter and Catherine (Tidy) Shoemaker.  She 
was aged 73 years, six months and 16 days at her death. 
  Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m., in the Summit Mills Brethren 
Church with the Rev. Gerald Polman officiating.  Interment was made in the 
Lichty cemetery under direction of W. C. Price & Son, morticians.
  Besides her husband, survivors are three sons, Melvin U. of Summit Mills; 
Walter, of Jerome, and Frank of Barberton, O., and two daughters, Mrs. Homer 
Lindeman, Summit Mills, and Mrs. Helen Hemming, Summit Mills; also 17 
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
