Born Sept. 14, 1909, in Coal Run. He was the son of the late Edward Fisher and Margaret (Stevanus) Fisher. He was preceded in death by his wife Beatrice (Bluebaugh) Fisher, one daughter, Helen Short, and son-in-law, William Short. Surviving are five daughters, Dorothy Eileen 'Sis' Seifert and husband, Robert Seifert, of Meyersdale, Gladys Mae Brown and husband, Donald Brown, of Garrett, Norma Jean Meyers and Patricia Louise Pritts, wife of the late William G. Pritts, both of Salisbury, Judith Maxine Gindlesperger and husband, Paul Gindlesperger, of Jerome; two brothers, Donald Fisher, Mogadore, Ohio, and Fay Fisher, Coal Run; one sister, Sarah Custer, St. Paul; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Fisher was a member of St. Paul's Wilhelm United Church of Christ, St. Paul, a volunteer forest fire warden and an avid fisherman and hunter. He worked as a coal miner and a gunsmith prior to his retirement. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Newman Funeral Home Inc., Salisbury. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Paul's Wilhelm United Church of Christ with the Rev. Bruce Ashlock presiding. Interment will be in St. Paul's Church Cemetery.
