Gay St., Salisbury, died April 14, 1993, at Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born April 9, 1926, at Shaft, Md., he was a son of Margaret (Chapman) Fisher, Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, and the late Bruce Fisher. Fisher was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, West Salisbury, and was a Navy veteran of World War II and Korean Conflict. He was a life member of Salisbury VFW. Also member of Salisbury American Legion, Salisbury Lions Club. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus, BPOE Lodge 549, a life member FOP Lodge 16, all of Painesville, Ohio, as well as past president of Painesville Kiwanis club and past lieutenant governor of Kiwanis International, Ohio District 22. Fisher was a retired chief of police for the village of Fairport Harbor, Ohio, and a member of Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police. He is survived by his wife, Marvette (Folk) Fisher; 2 brothers, Eugene of Salisbury and James C. of Westerly, R.I., a sister, Mary Catherine Seeker, Arcadia, Calif., and 26 nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Newman Funeral Home Inc., Salisbury. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Michael's Church. Interment, Parish Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be accorded by members of Salisbury veteran's organizations. Family requests contributions to Salisbury Ambulance Assn.
