Fitzgerald, 89, Somerset, died July 3, 2007, at Somerset Hospital. Born Dec. 27, 1917, in Medera, he is the son of the late Harry and Edith (Crane) Fitzgerald. Also preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Lewis) Fitzgerald, to whom he would have been married to for 68 years on July 5, 2007; brothers, Aaron and Edward Fitzgerald; and sisters, Delores Page, Mary Shaffer, Bernice Pile and Alice Holtzendorf. Survived by children, Mrs. Jerald (Patricia) Lowry, Pittsburgh; Tom "Buzz" Fitzgerald and wife, Carol, Somerset; Mrs. John (Nancy) Oravec, Walkersville, Md.; Mrs. Roache H. (Bonnie) Kennington III, Friedens; Jerry Fitzgerald married to the former Susan Zapatosky, Hooversville; James "Jimmy" Fitzgerald, Columbia, Miss.; and Mrs. Mel (Suzanne "Suzie") Enos, Somerset; 15 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren. Brother of Eugene Fitzgerald, Friedens; and Evelyn Oakman, Niles, Ohio. Member of NRA and the UMWA He was a well known deer hunter who enjoyed hunting, rifle-smithing, photography and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a veteran of World War II and a retired coal miner. Friends received from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be held 11 a.m. Friday.
