    Fern Elizabeth Fitzpatrick, 82, Grantsville, Md.,  died July 6, 2008, in Meyersdale
  Medical Center. Born April 5, 1926, in Grantsville, Md.,  the daughter of the late Abram
  Melvin and Arminta Catherine (Durst) Butler. She was also preceded in death by her
  husband, Harry F. Fitzpatrick, in  1993; two sons-in-law, Ralph Pritts and Paul Baer; two
  infant daughters; three sisters and  six brothers. She is survived by a son, Harry F.
  Fitzpatrick, Jr. and friend, Alice Purbaugh,  New Lexington; three daughters, Elizabeth
  Pritts and friend, Jack Wolfe, Grantsville;  LaRue Baer and friend, George Slayton, 
  Pocahontas; JoAnn Gilpin and husband, Roger, Bittinger, Md.; a brother, Fay Butler, 
  Baltimore; a sister, JoAnn Resh, Grantsville; 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren 
  and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Fitzpatrick was a homemaker and a member of
  Christ Lutheran Church  and a life member of Salisbury V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Friends
  will be received  from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday  at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A.,
  179 Miller St., Grantsville, where service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev.
  David E. Fetter officiating. Interment will be in the Grantsville Cemetery. Expressions
