"Rudy" Flaim, 25, School Avenue, Jerome, died accidentally, Aug. 4, 2003 at Fort Indiantown Gap National Guard Trainning Center. Born Dec. 30, 1977, in Johnstown, son of Bruno E. and Rebecca (Dunn) Flaim. Preceded in death by grandparents, Enrico and Mary (Carrara) Flaim and Stanley Dunn. Survived by parents with whom he resided; sisters: Roxanne, married to Michael Buncich, Davidsville; Rena, married to Michael Drenning, Saxton and Julie Flaim, Camp Hill; nieces, Tess Drenning, Mikella and Alexis Buncich; nephew, Michael Drenning; grandmother, Helen (Kamp) Dunn, Northern Cambria; childhood buddy,Adam Marsh; good friends on the Stoystown Auto Wreckers Hockey Team, of which Rudy was an active member and numerous other friends and relatives. A 1996 graduate of Conemaugh Township Area High School. Member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Davidsville and C Company, 876th Engineer Battalion, Pennsylvania National Guard, Johnstown. Recipient of numerous meritorious achievement medals given by the National Guard. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Route 403 and Church Road, Davidsville where vigil for the deceased will be held Saturday evening. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anne's Church, the Rev. Father Michael Lewandowski, OFM, Conv., celebrant. Committal, Holy Cross Cemetery, Jerome, with full military graveside honors in charge of C Company, 876th Engineer Battalion. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the State Police Camp Cadet of Somerset County, c/o the Trust Department, Somerset Trust Company, Somerset, Pa. 15501.
