Born July 21, 1909, in Jefferson Township, Somerset County, son of the late John Luther and Elsie Elizabeth (Hay) Flick. Preceded in death by first wife, Elizabeth (Kreinbrook) Flick. Survived by wife, the former Anna Catharine Rhoads; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William J. and Catherine Rhoads of Adelphi, Md.; nephews: David M. Rhoads of Derwood, Md., and Richard W. Rhoads of North Laurel, Md.; also great-nieces and great-nephews: Lauren, Jenny, Kristin and Christopher Rhoads. A graduate of Franklin and Marshall College. Did graduate work at the University of Pittsburgh. He had taught in Jefferson Township schools for eight years. He was a retired research chemist and spectrographer for U. S. Steel Corp., Braddock, Pa. Member of Oakland United Methodist Church of Johnstown, the American Chemical Society and Franklin and Marshall Alumni Association. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, with Rev. John O. Magargee and Rev. George E. Walton officiating. Interment, Husband Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to Oakland United Methodist Church, 1504 Bedford St., Johnstown, Pa. 15902 or to Arbutus Park Manor, 207 Ottawa St., Johnstown, Pa. 15904.
