Flickinger, 75, of Somerset RD 1, died Nov. 14, 1984, at his residence. He was born Feb. 20, 1909, in Brothersvalley Township, a son of the late Obediah and Erla Maude (Engleka) Flickinger. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Curtis, and a sister, Erma. Survived by his wife, the former Gladys F. Baer; two daughters: Mrs. Edward (Lois) Custer and Mrs. James (Barbara) Barclay, both of Somerset RD 1; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was a brother of Ruth of San Diego, Calif., and Lester of Somerset. He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, New Centerville; Somerset Lodge No. 358, F&AM; F.O.E.; and Local 354 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Messiah Lutheran Church, the Rev. Gregory Pile officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Body will lie in state at the church from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until time of service. Masonic services at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Daily American, November 15, 1984 [F0515]
