Flowers, 93, of 334 N. Mechanic St., Cumberland, Md., died Sept. 27, 1972. Born Nov. 25, 1878, a native of Garrett, he was a son of the late James and Ellen (Walter) Flowers. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Elizabeth May Hostetler. Surviving are three sons, Charles Flowers, Garrett; Hiram, Clearville; and Robert of Somerset; three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Weaver, Mrs. Alzene Jenkins and Mrs. Naomi Ross, all of Cumberland; 20 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; also two half-sisters, Mrs. Bertha Beam, Bethel Park and Mrs. Ida Moore, New York City. Funeral service was held Sept. 30 at Hafer Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home, LaVale, with the Rev. Charles Shetler and Rev. David Dayhoff officiating. Interment in Highland Cemetery, Garrett.
