Born May 13, 1953, in Somerset, she was the daughter of Norman and Martha (Howarth) Shaulis Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband in August 2002; her daughter, April Ann Rexroth on Oct. 19, 1996; and her father. She is survived by her mother, Martha Jane Shaulis, York; sister, Katherine Erdman and husband, Richard "Pete," Glen Rock; brother, Norman Junior Shaulis and wife Ann, York; grandson, Hunter Lee Shroyer, Fairhope; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a former employee of Sunrise Medical, formerly known as DeVilbiss in Somerset. Joyce moved to Midland to marry her high school sweetheart, Kenneth "Ken" Floyd, and became a homemaker. Joyce attended St. Luke's United Methodist Church and participated in the Sunday school program. She was also a volunteer at Trinity Towers, Manor Park, the Vogel Center, Terrace West Nursing Home and helped with projects for the special needs children. Friends will be received 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, at Ellis Funeral Home Funeral. A service has been scheduled for 3 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Richard Edwards officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home. Online condolences are accepted at www.mem.com. Her kind heart, warm smile and contagious laugh earned her the love and admiration of anyone who crossed her path. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
