His death was caused by a cerebral hemorrhage. He was a son of Reuben and Barbara Faidley Folk, and had the distinction of being one of a family of 25 children begotten by his father, who was twice married, the second wife having been Miss Mollie Johnson, before her marriage. Mr. Folk is survived by these children: Bertha, wife of Elmer Bittinger, Springs; Leora, wife of Clarence Showalter, Coal Run; Mrs. Bessie Yoder, Meyersdale; George, Coalmont, Pa.; Robert, Findley, Ohio; Christopher C., of Canton, Ohio, and Earnest, Isabella, Pa. He is also survived by one brother, William, Mt. Savage, Md. His wife, who was Miss Sarah Agnes Garlitz before her marriage, preceded him in death about eight years ago. Of the surviving half-brothers and half-sisters, the present address of only one is definitely known at this time, namely, Mrs. Sadie Fuller, Akron, Ohio. Another, Mrs. Jennie Simmons, is also said to be somewhere in Ohio. Funeral services were conducted last Friday at 2:30 p.m., at the St. Paul Evangelical and Reformed Church, near his home by his pastor, Rev. Alvin J. Forry. Interment was in the St. Paul Cemetery, under the direction of Stanley M. Thomas, mortician. Mr. Folk, though small in stature was a man of more than ordinary strength and was noted as a very skillful and industrious coal miner for many years. He was also popular with his fellow workmen, and also had many other friends. Meyersdale Republican, June 10, 1943
