Folk, 96, Salisbury, died June 3, 1989 in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born May 8, 1893, in Salisbury, daughter of the late Jerome and Mary (Maust) Newman. Preceded in death by her husband, Roy J. Folk, and 8 brothers and sisters. Survived by one son, R. Richard Folk, Ossining, N.Y., also one granddaughter, Lisa Johansen of Carmel, N.Y., and one grandson, Andrew Folk, San Diego, Calif. Retired school teacher having taught in the Elk Lick Township schools and later the South Pymotuning School District at Sharon. Formerly active in the Eastern Star and numerous other civic organizations. Member of the Salisbury Church of the Brethren. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Salisbury Church of the Brethren with Rev. Daniel J. Whitacre officiating. Interment, Salisbury Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church Tuesday, from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Daily American, June 5, 1989 [F0598]
