Folk, 72, of Northfield, Ohio, died in Akron, Monday. A native of Elk Lick Township, he was born where the Alvarno summer home is now located along Route 219. He lived in Salisbury about half his life and has since been a frequent visitor there during the 35 years he lived in Northfield. He is survived by his wife of Northfield, three sons, Floyd, Valley City, Ohio, Harold K. and Earl M., Akron; one daughter, Mrs. Glenn Hardesty, Northfield; a brother, John, Windham, O., a sister, Mrs. George Patton, Akron, and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted this afternoon in the Adams Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio. Interment was made in Northfield Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, May 12, 1949 ELMER E. FOLK Elmer E. Folk, 72, of Northfield, O., died Monday night, May 9, in the Peoples Hospital in Akron, O. He had been under doctors' care for two years and in bed for five months. He was born near Salisbury, Pa., where he lived until he moved to Northfield, O., in 1922, where he built the first modern business block. His general store serviced the community for 25 years. For 13 years he served as postmaster of Northfield. Mr. Folk was a Spanish-American War Veteran. He leaves his wife, Susan B.; three sons, Floyd of Valley City, Harold K. (Dutch), who operates the Chevrolet Agency on W. Market St., Akron, and Earl, who is associated with his brother, Dutch; and a sister, Mrs. Arline Hardesty of Northfield, a brother, John, of Windermere; a sister, Mrs. George Patton of Akron, and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 12, in the Adams Funeral Home, Akron. Burial was made in the Northfield-Macedonia Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, May 19, 1949
