Folk, passed away at 2:40 the morning of Dec. 20, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edmund A. Lynn, in Elk Lick Township, of cerebral thrombosis. Mr. and Mrs. Folk resided for years on a farm on Negro Mountain in Elk Lick Township, and recently moved to Meyersdale. She was a daughter of Araminta (Cramer) and Simon J. Livengood and was born in Addison Township on June 26, 1875. Mrs. Folk was 73 years, five months and 24 days of age at her passing. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Floyd E., Mahaffey, Pa.; Abraham B., Rockwood, and Orie W., Carthage, N.Y.; three daughters - Mrs. A. M. Lesnett, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Roy E. Brant, Meyersdale RD 3, and Mrs. Edmund Lynn, Grantsville RD 1; three brothers - Harvey F. and Hobart G. Livengood, Rockwood, and Samuel H. Livengood, St. Paul; five sisters - Mrs. Joel A. Beachy and Mrs. John H. Folk, Grantsville; Mrs. Irvin Engle, St. Paul; Mrs. Lloyd Engle, Meyersdale RD 1, and Mrs. Clarence Wisseman, Turtlecreek; and by 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her eldest son, Lester E. Folk, preceded her in death 26 years ago. Mrs. Folk was a member of the Maple Glen Church of the Brethren, where funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, with the Rev. Roy Otto, pastor of Springs Mennonite Church, officiating. Interment was made in the church cemetery in charge of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, December 23, 1948
