Folk, 84, of Hagerstown, Md., died Feb. 4, 1995, at Coffman Nursing Home, Hagerstown. Born April 5, 1910, near Addison, a daughter of the late Harry E. and Laura (Bowser) Humbertson. Preceded in death by husband, Claude G. Folk, on April 14, 1992. Mrs. Folk was a graduate of Connellsville High School and California State University. She taught school in Addison and Elk Lick Township, serving as principal at Springs Elementary School for eight years. Also served as president of the local branch os PSEA. Memeber of the Grantsville Homemakers Club and served one term as teasurer of the Garrett County Homemakers. Active in Maple Glen Church of the Brethren, serving as Sunday School teacher, superintendent and church clerk. Moved to Hagerstown in 1982. Was a member of Harvest Baptist Church. She reorganized the Addison Community Vol. Fire Dept. auxiliary and served as president for two years and as auditor of the Addison Borough Council for six years. Survivors include two daughters: Cleo F. Tagliaferre, Hagerstown, and Joanna F. Ralston, Clear Spring, Md.; 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Evelyn Holliday and Erma Holliday, both of Grantsville, Md.; also several nieces and nephews. Friends received from 7 to 9 Monday and noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, Md., where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Jeffrey Winstead officiating, assisted by the Rev. Terry St. John. Interment, Addison Cemetery. Daily American, February 6, 1995 [F0602]
